Behind The Scenes at Rescue The Runway

Last night I had the privilege of being a part of Rescue the Runway at the Colonnade Hotel to benefit PAWS New England, Last Hope K9 Rescue, Lucky Lab Rescue and the MSPCA. You can read more about how I got involved in my earlier blog post, but I wanted to share a quick update on just how incredible this event ended up being!

Before any big event, every girl needs a glam squad. I just so happen to have one of the most talented ladies in Boston as my dear friend and personal stylist.

Keely Witkowski is the owner of B.Fetching and she’s my top secret (well, not anymore) weapon of fabulousness. She styled me from head to toe. I am OBSESSED with what she created for my hair. (Inspired by a routine  from this season’s SYTYCD.) And she totally got me hooked on Flash Tattoos! (On my wrist in photo to left!)

I took Keely as my date to the event. (Chef Boomer stayed home with Baby Boomer. They had a ‘boys night.’) We arrived to the VIP Reception which was on the stunning rooftop of the Colonnade Hotel. It couldn’t have been a more perfect Boston evening! It was so much fun to mix and mingle.

So much fun getting to share the runway and work with such powerhouse Boston women.

Then it was time to head to the greenroom and meet our rescue dogs. I immediately fell in love with my pup Lucy! Lucy is a 4 year old beagle mix from Tennesse. She was very nervous but after we went for a little stroll together and shared some treats she calmed down and was a little star!

The actual runway was so much fun. I must admit I wasn’t nervous primarily because I didn’t have to worry about tripping in high heels. Big perk to being a fitness instructor… the clothes! I was so thankful to be wearing my very own  pair of sneakers from the Heidi Klum for New Balance collection donated to me by New Balance! Make sure to check them out on my Instagram (JPPilates1).

After the runway show was over I had the pleasure of meeting Mike Napoli of the Boston Red Sox.  Ironically our conversation was caught on camera. It went something like this:

Jenn: I’m a Pilates Instructor
Mike: Seriously? I’m looking for a Pilates instructor in Boston.
Jenn: Well… I’m your girl!

Mike, I’m holding you to it via the internet!

I also did a fun interview with Style Boston TV! Can’t wait for it to air.

Thank you to Michelle Fournier and Brittany Bang for asking me to model for this great cause and welcoming me with open arms onto your planning committee! Big thanks to Keely of B.Fetching for styling me AND for hair and makeup, New Balance for your donation of my outfit, Lucie Wicker Photography for donating your services to photograph the event, ZICO Coconut Water for donating beverages and Equinox for your generous silent auction item.
