Planning for the Future

When you are in the thick of parenthood, life can be overwhelming. Community helps to lift you up and great companies help to support you. Finding them can be hard, but once you do, it’s life changing!

I first created JPP Stroller Bootcamp when my oldest son was just a few months old. He was a terrible sleeper and therefore I was a very exhausted and stressed new mom. I used to bundle him up and take him in the stroller to the Bunker Hill Monument. We’d walk laps around and around the Monument. It was the only time of day he was quiet and he often fell asleep. It was my opportunity to think, plan and dream. I remember looking down at my peaceful baby and imagining all the things he would grow up to be. I think I speak for all parents when I say we never want anything to hold our children back.

I’ve started looking into my children’s college savings plan through MEFA. It’s never too early to start preparing for the future and MEFA's U.Fund College Investing Plan is an easy way to kick start our children’s college dreams today.

Recently the U.Fund College Investing Plan and MEFA sponsored JPP Stroller Bootcamp at the Bunker Hill Monument in Charlestown. During this complimentary class we were empowered by movement and knowledge. We learned more about college savings plans through MEFA, we challenged our bodies and minds and we came together as a community. Plus we were also armed with (adorable) tote bags full of swag!

As I watched the moms stroll around the Monument with their tiny new babies I felt overcome with emotion. It feels like just yesterday I was one of them. I can’t believe how quickly time has flown by. I am so grateful for this community of moms and for supportive organizations like MEFA. There is no better feeling than knowing you are not alone and that you have all the tools you need to prepare for the future.
